Very good value for money. It's a proper clean, well located hotel with decent facilities.
The breakfast was slightly skimpy.
The hotel is ok, not perfect, not bad. Just ok. Good location, near to downtown at the nice Garden District with Wendy's Poppey's just across the St Charles street. Their breakfast includes danish, 3 type of instant porridges, 2 types of cereals, orange juice, milk, orange juice.
It's a very noisy place. I heard how my neighbors upstairs moved in their room, I heard noise of air conditioners outside my room. Another bad thing - it is not totally clean. I found the rest of somebody's cake on the armrest of a chair in my room at the day of arrival. Two days later it was on the same place! On the second day I found a lipstick on the floor and it was not mine :) ! Free wi-fi did not work during day time
This is a excellent and historic place to stay I loved it and will be back
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Convenient to trolley and a great nearby restuarant that was recommended by staff. Off street parking area was well lighted.
The hotel is charming - small, but comfortable. The staff is wonderful. We enjoyed our stay and will return.
Wonderful customer service. The rooms were nicely furnished and welcoming. Located a block or so from the St. Charles streetcar stop. Provided a nice continental breakfast and seating for the small court yard. The bamboo offered a point of interest.
It was comfortable and good locationo
I found it difficult getting the breakfast and trying to go out of the main door to the outside area, quite awkard.
Love the European style hotel!! Very close to French quarter
A bit dusty, receptionist was bad, no customer service
Bear in mind you are staying at an older style hotel, not a modern chain motel. Quirky design and layout, really liked it. Staff were helpful and the rooms clean. Breakfast was a bit limited and has to be outside mostly because of the hotel layout but that adds to the atmosphere. Ideal for the streetcars which run from the end of the street. $1.25 each way to the heart of New Orleans. Free parking was a real bonus. Will stay again when in town.
Just the lack of shampoo I find puzzling. They even provide shower caps! Otherwise no complaints.
The value for the room had to be what we liked best and will have us coming back because of it. The room was clean. Ac worked good. Had good hot water, refrig, microwave, and a coffee pot. It was the first time we had stayed in New Orlean. We thought that the streetcar only being one block , 24/7 and ran about every 20 mins was icing on the cake. We never once had to use the car and parking was free at the hotel.
The only thing we didn't like was the low flow shower head.
Great services and helpfulness of the staff. The room was unconventional. Good location regarding going to and from "the french quarter" in New Orleans - just use the street cars.
Nice personal assistance, unconventional rooms. Good bed.
Spiral staircase in room. Refridge worked well. Power strip on desk. Staff very friendly. Common areas pretty well kept. Strong Wi-Fi. Several places to eat & drink within walking distance. 1 block from trolley.
Rooms really need updating. Loft area was very hot (no A/C vent). Breakfast was disappointing. Neighborhood not very attractive.
Your counter staff were the best - and dedicated - working long hours to keep it working and doing anything possible to ensure that our stay was the best possible - can't praise them enough
Perhaps a couple more outside tables would be the only comment - all was great
We were quite comfortable but this is a small boutique style hotel. Very much 'New Orleans" , do not expect a high class hotel. It was exactly as represented in the web site but a little on the tired side. The first room we were given needed updating and some repairs done, it was also mouldy. However the staff changed us with apologies and the second room was much better. It was in an incredibly great position , we were a little concerned when looking at the satellite views but there was no need. Very close to the trolley in st Charles, very safe and the restaurants were varied and 'real' rather than the tourist variety down in Bourbon St. We were able to walk 10 mins to the convention centre. We did not expect a high class hotel for the price we paid but were very pleasantly surprised and very happy.
It does not come up on the internet as well as it does in real life. The outside shots are deceptively poor but that is the only problem. Do not look past it for location and price and comfort.
We loved the atmosphere. It is an older hotel but we loved the feel and layout. Our kids loved the loft area and spiral staircase. Most of our family had not been to New Orleans and I wanted to stay somewhere that had the feel of the French Quarter. I did alot of research online before booking and this hotel got good reviews. The location was great. It was really great to be able to park our van and take the trolley around town. Having a fridge and microwave was also a bonus. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Breakfast items weren't replenished but when asked we got what we needed. Very minor issue.
